These incidents are the latest in a rash of attempted break-ins and burglaries that have hit downtown Fredericksburg in the past few months.

A month ago, for example, a burglary occurred at Natural Mystics, 1002 Prince Edward St. In responding to a burglar alarm after midnight on Feb. 13, police discovered that the store’s glass front door had been shattered, inventory items were scattered on the floor and some merchandise was missing.

And on the evening of Jan. 21, an unknown person damaged a window and the front door of Blue Shark Antiques, 904 Caroline St. There were no suspects or witnesses, police said.
