Police: Murder-For-Hire Plot Targeted Teen Sex Assault Victim

A man awaiting trial is accused of trying to have a 13-year-old and her mother killed, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

A man awaiting trial on sex assault charges is now accused of trying to pay someone to have the 13-year-old accuser and her mother killed, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Tyrone Warren, 22, of no fixed address, is charged with 2 Counts of Criminal Solicitation to Commit Murder and 2 Counts of Attempted Murder.

Warren has been in custody since August on a charge of sodomy by force involving the 13-year-old girl. He is expected to go on trial in that case in January.

Last month, a Stafford detective learned Warren was allegedly reaching out to individuals from jail in hopes of paying someone to kill the victim and her mother, according to the sheriff’s office.

An undercover deputy then spent two weeks posing as a “hit man” to broker the deal. Warren was allegedly prepared to offer $5,000 for the murders.

A grand jury indicted Warren on the new charges on Monday, according to the sheriff’s office.

“The seriousness of these charges cannot be overstated,” said Sheriff Charles Jett. “I am thankful that no harm came to the two individuals who were potential victims of this inhumane plot of murder.”
