Police: Pedestrian Fatally Struck on Interstate 95
A man died after he was hit walking in the travel lanes, according to Virginia State Police. The driver, of Fredericksburg, was injured.

SPRINGFIELD, VA — A pedestrian was struck and killed in a traffic wreck on Interstate 95 on Monday night, according to Virginia State Police.
At 8:29 p.m., a 2012 Toyota Corolla was heading south on I-95 when the driver saw a man walking in traffic who was wearing dark clothes. The driver could not stop in time and was unable to avoid hitting the man, according to Virginia State Police.
The man had no identification on him. The Office of the Medical Examiner is expected to identify the remains and conduct an autopsy.

The driver of the Corolla, a 21-year-old Fredericksburg man, was transported to Fairfax Inova Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He will not be charged.
