Police: Spotsylvania Man Dies in Pickup Truck Crash
Truck went off side of road and hit utility pole: Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office.

A Spotsylvania County man died Thursday after his pickup truck went off the side of a road and hit a utility pole, police said.
The accident occurred in the 5300 block of Harrison Road, according to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office. Law enforcement units arrived on the scene and found a 2007 Ford pickup overturned in a field.

The driver, 35-year-old Matthew DiFilippo, was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.
An investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling west on Harrison Road when it went off the right side of the road, striking a utility pole and then overturning, the sheriff’s office said. The accident is still under investigation, but speed appears to be a factor in the crash.
