Police: Victim Kicks Purse Snatcher in the Face

A woman escaped three men trying to steal her purse Tuesday afternoon after she kicked one of the subjects in the face, according to Fredericksburg City Police.
The woman, 19 of Locust Grove, was at Hurkamp Park, 900 Edward Street. She was walking back to her car at 1:30 p.m. when she was approached by three men who had been sitting on a wall nearby.
The men began talking to her, asking where she was going, when one of the men grabbed the victim by the hand and a second subject grabbed her purse off of her shoulder.

“The victim reported that she kicked the second offender in the face and he dropped her purse,” according to police spokesperson Natatia Bledsoe. “The victim picked up the purse and ran to her car and left the scene.”
The subjects were described as white males in their 30s to mid-40s. The first offender had very short black hair and a mustache and was wearing jeans and a T-shirt. The second offender was clean shaven with blond hair and he was wearing jeans and a long-sleeved shirt. The second offender also had a cigarette in his mouth. The investigation is ongoing.
