Police: Sexual Battery Suspect was Former Youth Ministry Volunteer

Two victims, ages 11 and 12, interviewed. Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.

A former youth volunteer at a Spotsylvania church is accused of sexual battery of two boys, according the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.

Gregory Richard Yeamans, 52, of Spotsylvnia, is accused of two counts of aggravated sexual battery of a minor and one count of taking indecent liberties with a minor.

An anonymous tip to the Spotsylvania Department of Social Services led detectives to investigate the claims. Two victims, ages 11 and 12, were interviewed and evidence was obtained linking Yeamans to the allegations, according to a SCSO release.

The incidents reportedly occurred at Yeamans home. He was a former youth ministry volunteer at Fairview at Riverclub Church.

Yeamans is being held under no bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
