Pulliam’s Auto Center In Fredericksburg To Close After 24 Years
The shop on the corner of Lafayette Boulevard and Kenmore Avenue will close at the end of the month.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — After more than two decades of helping Fredericksburg area residents with their car troubles, Bill Pulliam, who owns Pulliam Auto Center on the corner of Lafayette Boulevard and Kenmore Avenue, will close his shop at the end of the month. While the last day for servicing cars was Sept. 20, Pulliam said the shop will be open through Sept. 30 to finish paperwork, according to a report.
Pulliam and his wife, Patt, have owned and operated the business in downtown Fredericksburg for 24 years, the Free Lance-Star reported. The 81-year-old mechanic said he’s worked 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. for as long as he can remember, and once he retires, Pulliam has a few cars of his own he plans to work on and restore.
A celebration for customers and friends is planned from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, at Pulliam’s Auto Center, located at 411 Lafayette Blvd. in the city. Food and drink will be provided.
