Rescue Me: Suzie Is A Distinguished And Wise 7-Year-Old Dog

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Suzie is a 7-year-old dog available for adoption through the Fredericksburg SPCA. With her older age, Suzie is distinguished and laid-back; she's just waiting for a family to take her in.

Suzie doesn't live life in the fast lane, according to the SPCA. She's more of a watcher than a wanderer at this point.

" She is a very gentle, very quiet, laid-back girl who just likes to loaf about and get pets and cuddles," the Fredericksburg SPCA told Patch. "Suzie enjoys a lackadaisical walk where she can take time to stop and smell the roses!"

Despite her age, Suzie still has plenty of love to give. She just needs a family to open their home and their hearts to her.

The Fredericksburg SPCA, like many animal shelters around the country, is dealing with a large influx of animals. The shelter is experiencing critical capacity.

"With the cost of living rising, many people are being forced to surrender their loved pets to their municipal shelters. The number of partner shelters that need to transfer animals to the Fred SPCA to refrain from euthanizing their population is only increasing each day as the number of owner surrenders also increases," the SPCA said. "The Fred SPCA's life-saving reach is tethered by the capacity for care and resources that we have available."
