Rescue Me: Theo The Dog Has 'The Silliest Play Style'

Theo, a 2-year-old adoptable dog at the Fredericksburg SPCA, has an REM disorder but that doesn't stop him from living his best life.

Theo is about 2 years old, the Fredericksburg SPCA estimated. They also learned that he has an REM disorder, but it doesn't affect his normal activities now that he's on medication.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Theo is a dog with lots of love to give. He is only 2 years old and though he has an REM disorder, it doesn't slow him down. He is available for adoption now through the Fredericksburg SPCA.

"Mr. Theo is an absolute goofball who will keep you smiling 24/7," the Fredericksburg SPCA said. "He's silly, friendly, and fun!"

Originally, Theo was brought to the SPCA's Locke Community Medical Center. His previous foster family reported that he might be having seizures in his sleep. Medical staff drew blood and determined that Theo may have had an REM disorder. Now, with the proper medication, it doesn't impact his day-to-day activities.

Theo is particularly fond of treats and toys. Tennis balls might be his favorite of all. He already knows "sit," and with the right family, he could accomplish anything.

"He's almost 2 years old and ready to find a family that needs some joy in their lives! We offer a foster-to-adopt trial period so you can see if Theo fits your lifestyle, and have open communication with staff about any of his needs," the SPCA said. "We know this special boy's story will resonate with the right person!"
