Rescue Me: Tomoka Is A Dog With A Loving Soul Who Needs A Home

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Tomoka was originally a Florida dog, but she was displaced during a recent hurricane. Now, as she settles in at the Fredericksburg SPCA, this lover mutt is ready to find her forever home.

"Tomoka is a patient, loving soul who is looking for a human companion to make a soul connection with," the Fredericksburg SPCA told Patch.

Tomoka is a quick learner and food-motivated. She's already picked up "sit," "touch," and "down." With more time and more treats, she's could learn even more.

"She is a lover and a cuddle bug once and once you get to know her don't be surprised if she climbs into your lap for kisses," the SPCA said. "At 4.5 years old, she is a favorite office dog around the shelter because she is so chill and laid back."

Like any dog, Tomoka has her fair share of quirks.

"Staff loves that Tomoka tells them when it's time to go potty," the SPCA said. "She would be great in a home that would welcome her gentle soul."
