Rescue Me: Yucca Is A 'Blind-Ish' Cat With Love To Spare
Yucca, a senior cat at the Fredericksburg SPCA, came to Virginia from Florida after Hurricane Ian. Now, he's ready for his forever family.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Yucca is a senior cat at the Fredericksburg SPCA who has learned to love life with his visual impairment. To help Yucca find his forever home, the SPCA has waived his adoption fee.
Yucca was originally from Florida, but he caught a rescue flight to Virginia after Hurricane Ian. After settling down in foster care, Yucca is ready to join a family.
"He's been in foster care and loves his human foster siblings and doesn't mind the (respectful) dogs at all," the SPCA said. "Everyone that meets Yucca agrees that he is genuinely remarkable and doesn't let anything keep him from being a loving companion."

Yucca has a sweet personality and a calm nature. He also has lovely blue eyes.
"Blind (ish)? That doesn't stop Yucca from seeking out snuggles," the SPCA said. "Having diabetes doesn't stop him from living his full retirement fantasy."

Yucca takes twice-daily injections for his condition, but the SPCA insists that they aren't difficult to give. SPCA staff would also be glad to train his new family.
"Yucca is one of a kind and we can't wait to find this senior sweetheart a home," the SPCA said.
More information about Yucca and other adoptable cats and dogs is available on the SPCA's website.
