Restaurant Delivery Service Running in Fredericksburg: Report

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A Peninsula-based restaurant delivery service has expanded into Fredericksburg, according to the Free Lance-Star. TakeoutOnTheRun already has partnerships with Taj Indian Cuisine at Greenbrier Shopping Center and Legume at 715 Caroline Street.

Operations manager Carol White told the newspaper the online service, which began in Newport News and expanded into Hampton, Yorktown and Williamsburg, that the Northern Virginia area always has been a goal "not only because of the population but the traffic. It was a natural consideration for us to go into areas that could really benefit from having food delivered to them."

Delivery charges start at $4.99. The takeoutontherun.com website has a list of participating restaurants' menus. White said the company also is looking at possible expansion into Stafford and Woodbridge.
