Robbers Target Dollar Tree Employees After Closing

Victims say unknown subjects came out of the wood line as three people were leaving the store, according to Fredericksburg Police.

Investigators are looking for information in an after-hours robbery at a Dollar Tree store on Plank Road.

The victims, two employees and another man, were leaving the store at 10 p.m. Saturday after closing the store.

The manager reported that she was getting into her car when two men ran toward her from the wood line. She quickly locked herself in the car as the subjects attempted to get into the car.

They then approached the other two victims and ordered them onto the ground. The subjects took a wallet, a backpack and a bag of items purchased from the store.

The suspects fled the area on foot toward Sport & Health.

Police describe the suspects as

  • a young black male, approximately 5’7” – 5’8”, medium build, wearing a black zip-up sweatshirt, blue jeans, and had a black bandana covering his face
  • a young black male, approximately 5’7” – 5’8”, medium build wearing a dark grey zip-up sweatshirt, blue jeans, and had a black bandana covering his face.
