Robbery Suspect Can't Escape the Cameras Downtown

Investigators are hoping that pictures (lots of pictures) can help identify the person of interest in the Wednesday robbery at Sweets on Caroline, located at 817 Caroline Street.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m., according to police. No store employees were harmed during the incident, but the suspect was able to successfully flee the scene with an unknown amount of money before authorities could arrive.

The person of interest, pictured above, is described as a black male with short hair and short facial hair, approximately 5’9”, 180 pounds, and was wearing athletic clothing, possibly dark green. He was seen in the immediate area of Sweets on Caroline prior to the robbery.

In a post on Facebook, Sweets on Caroline thanked the community for their support. And, congratulated the perp on his taste in chocolate:

“In addition to cash from the register which he demanded under threat of harm to our sales associate, he also took the bag of Neuhaus Manon Lait chocolates that he had ordered before committing the robbery.”
