Robert Krasny, 78

SMSgt Robert Martin Krasny U.S. Air Force (Ret.), 78, of Spotsylvania County passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Golden Living Center.

A son of the late Benjamin and Sarah Krasny he was born on November 19, 1935 in Newark, New Jersey. As a young man he joined the Air Force, and served his country for 21 years before retiring in 1971.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Joyce A. Krasny of Spotsylvania; son, Micahel Krasny (Nancy) of Chesapeake; daughter, Laura Heath (Johnny) of Boyce; sister, Marcia Freiberg (Sam) of Maryland; seven grandchildren, Robert Krasny (Cecelia), Deborah Peresich (Rob), Karin Musa (Hector), Adam Compton, Cassandra Compton, William Heath and Daniel Heath; great-granddaughter, Abigail Peresich; son-in-law, Kevin Compton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by eight days by his daughter, Michelle Compton.

A funeral service will be held at 11am Tuesday, September 23 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel with the Rev. Jim Stone officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 1pm at Quantico National Cemetery.
