Rock The River FXBG Saturday: Races, Beer, Music, Vendors, More
Fun and adventure along (and on) the Rappahannock River all day Saturday. Here's the details.

The Rappahannock River offers a variety of adventures — and several are getting wrapped up into one big event on Saturday with Rock The River FXBG. The free event will run from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Old Mill Park, 2410 Caroline Street.
Rock the River offers, “a multi-sport river and foot race, outdoor activities for grown-ups, kids, and their furry friends, a display of unique art and crafts, as well as the enjoyment of great craft beer, tasty food, and live music throughout the day.”

The event includes the The 35th Annual Great Rappahannock Whitewater Canoe Race. You can still register Saturday morning.

There’s a 4-mile “Run for the River” land race in the afternoon.

Beer, Food and Vendors
There’s a beer sampling package for $30. The price includes a Rock the River FXBG glass for sampling and 20 tickets. Get tickets here. Brewers include several local and regional operations. See the list.
Music begins at 11 a.m. with a lineup of bands set to play until 8 p.m.

Parking Tips
Organizers note overflow options include Old Mill Park, along Caroline St and up-and-down Heritage Trail, or at JMHS. “The river will wait for you so stay calm, hoof it in, and enjoy our amazing Downtown Park!”
