Sandra Kennelly Featured Artist for September at Art First Gallery
First Friday celebration on Sept. 5 from 6-9 pm.

Release, The Art First Gallery:
An exhibition of new works by Fredericksburg-area artist Sandra Kennelly, is the featured show at Art First Gallery from Tues., September 2 through Sun., September 28, 2014 with a First Friday celebration on September 5 from 6-9 pm.
Kennelly calls her show, “Pictures that tell a story”. Originally she took photographs for ideas for her paintings. Then, when raising a family kept her from painting, she began to look at her photos as pictures for cards for her own use. With the development of computer graphics, she now crops, manipulates and prints her own photo creations into something new.

When Kennelly was painting, color and light were her focus, which drew her to glass. Originally, she did stained glass work and then graduated into warm glass work where one melts various pieces of glass together to form something new. Kennelly’s new jewelry line, “Eye Candy,” has been successful and is now sold at Art First Gallery. For this show, she tries something new by making full necklaces out of dichroic glass beads. She will also show her unusual earrings and pendants and is also trying her hand at glass clocks.
The Art First Gallery, located at 824 Caroline Street, is open daily from 11 am – 5 pm. Take this opportunity to enjoy the abundance of great art created by Fredericksburg-area artists. In addition to the featured artist, you’ll also find art displayed by more than thirty more gallery members.
