Several Shots Fired At Vehicle In Spotsylvania County: Police

One man was arrested after several gunshots were fired at a vehicle in Spotsylvania County on Saturday night, the sheriff's office said.

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — Several gunshots struck a vehicle in Spotsylvania County over the weekend, according to a report from the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office. No injuries were reported in the shooting.

One man has been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting, police said. Authorities recovered a firearm at the scene.

Deputies responded to the scene of the shooting near Stubbs Bridge Road and Woolfolk Road around 8 p.m. on Saturday night. Authorities determined that a dispute occurred between several people at a home on Woolfolk Road.

Two people left the home in a vehicle before they noticed a man follow them. The man then fired several gunshots at the vehicle. Multiple shots struck the vehicle, police said.

The man returned to the home, where deputies took him into custody. Police identified the man as 46-year-old Brian Simpson.

Simpson is charged with one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle. He was released on a personal recognizance bond, police said. The sheriff's office noted that additional charges may be pending upon further investigation.
