A woman who fled Virginia after being convicted last year of identity theft and other charges has been apprehended in Texas, Spotsylvania County Sheriff Roger L. Harris announced Tuesday.
Dorothy Anne Beach was convicted on Dec. 22 in the Spotsylvania Circuit Court of identity theft, money laundering, racketeering, filing false tax returns and fraudulent tax preparation. She was released on bond and ordered to appear in court for sentencing in January, but failed to appear and became a fugitive, the sheriff said.

A task force from the U.S. Marshals Service recently arrested Beach in Amarillo, Texas, without incident. She is scheduled to be returned to Virginia to face sentencing, the sheriff said.
In Amarillo, Beach was using one of the dozens of aliases she employed to defraud more than 25 victims in her financial schemes, Harris said. He commended Detective Joe Cagnina with the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office for his efforts in working with the U.S. Marshals’ fugitive task force to track down Beach.
