Shooting Near Fredericksburg Park Brings Request For Video, Witnesses
Fredericksburg City police are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon in the Dixon Park area, according to authorities.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Fredericksburg police are investigating the report of a shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon in the area of Dixon Park, according to authorities.
Officers responded around 3:30 p.m. for the report of shots being fired in the 900 block of Myrick Street. When the officers arrived, those who were involved in the shooting were no longer on the scene of the incident.
"Several cartridge casings were recovered at the scene. At this time, there have been no reports
of injuries related to the incident, but one report of damaged property," according to the incident report. "The investigation is ongoing, and the Fredericksburg Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance."

Police are asking anyone with security camera footage from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday or who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact Detective Tittle at 540-373-3122 ext. 5778.
