Shots Fired During Road Rage Incident In Stafford: Police

A man fired three shots into a moving vehicle during a road rage incident Tuesday in Stafford, says the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

STAFFORD, VA—A man fired three shots into a moving vehicle during a road rage incident Tuesday in the area of Route 1 and Corporate Drive, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

Oscar Martinez, 24, was arrested at the scene and charged with attempted aggravated malicious wounding, shooting from a moving vehicle, shooting at a moving vehicle, brandishing a firearm, reckless handling of a firearm and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Martinez said the victim was tailgating him, so he began tailgating the victim's vehicle after it passed him. At some point, the vehicles wound up side by side. That's when Martinez grabbed his gun and fired three rounds into the other vehicle. He said he saw a gun in the victim's hand, but no evidence of a gun was found in the victim's possession.

After the shots were fired, both drivers pulled off to the side of the road and flagged down police in the area responding to an unrelated incident.
