SONIC Drive-In Breaks Ground in Stafford
Construction underway in advance of May opening

SONIC Drive-in has broken ground on the construction of a new restaurant at 240 McWhirt Loop, on Route 17 in Stafford County near the GEICO complex.
The location will be under construction for about two months, with plans to open in May, the company said in a press release.

“We’ve found a great spot for a new SONIC Drive-In and are excited to finally announce the groundbreaking,” said Dale Town of DalMar Burger I Inc., in the release. “We will be looking for new employees and announcing grand opening details in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for updates!”
Town and his wife, Margo, are the local SONIC franchisees. They’ve operated two drive-in locations in Fredericksburg for the past eight years.

SONIC specializes in made-to-order fast food and has a nationwide chain of drive-in restaurants, with more than 3,500 drive-ins serving about 3 million customers every day.
