Spotsylvania Motorcyclist Killed In Crash, Sheriff Says Speed May Be Factor

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — A 29-year-old motorcyclist was killed Thursday night in a crash that investigators believe involved high speed, according to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office.

Thomas Bradley Johnson of Spotsylvania was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near Stanfield Road and Matta Way.

Deputies responded to the crash around 9:50 p.m. Investigators said Johnson's motorcycle appeared to have been traveling at a high rate of speed before striking a vehicle that was making a left turn.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The sheriff's office Traffic Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash.
