Spotsylvania Police Holding Rape Defense Class For Women
Registration is now open for the class, which begins Oct. 21. In the class, women will learn realistic self-defense tactics and techniques.
SPOTSYLVANIA, VA — The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office will host a Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D) class for area women who wish to learn how to defend themselves. The class will be held Oct. 21-24 from 6-9 p.m. at the Public Safety Building in Spotsylvania.
The class is open to females, ages 12 and up. R.A.D classes focus on teaching participants realistic self-defense tactics and techniques to use in case of an attack, and is a comprehensive class focusing on awareness, prevention and risk reduction. According to police, it is not a martial arts class.
The class is free for participants, but requires a commitment to attend each session. Space is limited so early registration is encouraged. Interested women may register by contacting sjones@spotsylvania.va.us.
