Stafford Drone, Spotsylvania Bloodhound Track Assault Suspect
Stafford County Sheriff's Office deputies, with the help of a drone and a K-9, found an assault suspect Monday night.

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — Stafford County Sheriff's Office deputies, with the help of a drone and a K-9, found an assault suspect Monday night.
At about 10:10 p.m. Monday, Stafford deputies responded to a disturbance with a weapon on Pribble Lane. The suspect was identified as Dallas Cousins, 37, of Stafford. A deputy learned that Cousins had allegedly assaulted someone at the residence and fled into the nearby woods. The sheriff's deputies learned that Cousins was intoxicated and possibly armed with a handgun.
The Stafford County Sheriff's Office's Unmanned Aircraft Systems Team responded and used a drone to begin checking the wooded area. The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office responded to assist with a bloodhound to begin a track.

Just after 11:30 p.m. Monday, Cousins was spotted by the drone walking along Little Whim Road. He was quickly taken into custody. Cousins was charged with assault and battery and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,500 unsecure bond. No firearm was located, according to the sheriff's office.
