Stafford Man Dies After Getting Shot By His Older Brother: Police
The Stafford County Sheriff's Office charged a 39-year-old man with killing his younger brother in a shooting on Friday night.

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — The Stafford County Sheriff's Office charged a 39-year-old man with killing his younger brother in a shooting that took place Friday night.
The suspect, Wesley “Ray” Whiting Jr., turned himself into the sheriff's office on Courthouse Road on Saturday. He was charged with murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the sheriff's office.
On Sept. 25 at around 7:25 p.m., sheriff's deputes went to Porter Hill Road after receiving reports of a shooting. The victim, Calvin Whiting, 33, of Stafford attempted to drive himself to the hospital but stopped on Courthouse Road near Jennifer Lane.

Stafford Fire and Rescue transported him the rest of the way to the hospital with several gunshot wounds to his torso. Calvin Whiting died later from his injuries at the hospital.
On Friday night, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office determined the shooting occurred at the address on Porter Hill Road and that the suspect was Ray Whiting, who fled the scene before deputies arrived. Warrants were issued for his arrest, the sheriff's office said.

Ray Whiting is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
