Stafford Man Killed Attempting To Cross Street: Police
The 71-year-old man died after he was struck by a car in the area of Route 1 and Tracey Street.
STAFFORD, VA — The Stafford County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Monday morning accident that killed a 71-year-old pedestrian attempting to cross the street. According to officials, Raymond Smith of Stafford County died after he was struck by a car in the area of Route 1 and Tracey Street.
According to officials, the victim was in critical condition when deputies arrived at 7:35 a.m. Shortly after, Smith died as a result of his injuries. Route 1 in the area of Tracey Street was closed for approximately two hours to allow deputies to investigate the incident and clear the roadway.
The incident remains under active investigation. Anyone with information on the accident is
