Stafford Sheriff Thanks ‘Good Samaritans’ For Helping Injured Man
Stafford County Sheriff David Decatur said the unknown passers-by are a "testament to the strength of the community."
STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — The Stafford County Sheriff’s Department Wednesday reached out to say thank you to a group of Good Samaritans who helped an elderly man Saturday after he was hit by a car. According to a Facebook post by the sheriff’s office, the group of residents provided first aid to the 65-year-old man before police and emergency personnel arrived.
The elderly man was struck by a car in the area of Garrisonville Road and Parkway Boulevard. Police said thanks to the efforts made by the passers-by, the man is on the road to recovery. However, the Good Samaritans left the scene before police could get their information.
“We would like to commend the exemplary actions of these Good Samaritans. It is also our hope that they will come forward and contact us, so that Sheriff (David) Decatur can formally recognize them for their heroic deed,” the sheriff’s office said in the social media post.
