Stafford Student Is A Shining Star, County Superintendent Says
Niko, a fifth grader from Stafford County, was recognized as a Shining Star student for being kind, caring, and considerate.
STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — Anyone can make a difference in their community. Each day, students and young people around the region work hard and support the people around them.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Laura-Céline Patrick who nominated Niko, 5th Grade of Fredericksburg. Niko's mother nominated him after the Stafford County Public Schools superintendent named him as a Shining Star last month.

Niko is the first student from his school to receive this award, which was presented to him by the the Stafford County Superintendent on Wednesday, 3/1.
Teachers, parents, students can win the Shining Star Award. The county gives out 1 award a month to a student & the superintendent said out of 36,000 students—“it’s a pretty big deal.”
