Stafford Teen Killed When Car Crashes Into Tree: Police
Jamison Lane Clark was a first-year cadet at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington.
STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A Stafford County teenager was killed Saturday when the vehicle he was driving crashed into a tree on Sanford Drive in Stafford near Fredericksburg, police said Monday. Jamison Lane Clark, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene in an area of Stafford south of U.S. Route 17.
The Traffic Safety Unit for the Stafford County Sheriff's Office determined Clark lost control of the vehicle, a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban, on Sanford Drive just south of Paul Lane and went sideways — driver side first — off the road and into a tree. Clark was a first-year cadet at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington majoring in international studies, the Washington Post reported. Clark was in the Marine Corps ROTC and planned to be commissioned in the Marines upon graduation, according to the report.

A 20-year-old passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. He was listed in stable condition at the hospital later that morning. The sheriff’s office said the incident remains under active investigation.
