Strangeways Brewing Expanding To Fredericksburg
Richmond-based business is owned by a Fredericksburg native; operations scheduled for 2017 opening.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Yet another craft brewery is being developed in Fredericksburg, this one at 10,000 square-foot building at 350 Lansdowne Road.
Strangeways Brewing, a successful Richmond-based business owned by Fredericksburg native Neil Burton, announced last Thursday it plans to begin operation in the first half of 2017.
The semi-startup has received $150,000 from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Forestry Industries, and Fredericksburg’s Economic Development Authority will match the grant in $50,000 installments over three years.

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, who attended the announcment, noted the state fund goes toward businesses that use Virginia-grown products.
Said Burton in a release: "This is the exact same building where we previously headquartered my families’ clothing operation, Burton’s Menswear, which I helped operate for nearly twenty years. That just makes this even more special and personal."
