'Suspicious Death' Investigated In Spotsylvania County: Police
Police in Spotsylvania County are investigating after they found a dead body in the woods near Salem Run on Tuesday evening.
SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — Police in Spotsylvania County found a dead body on Tuesday night. The sheriff's office said they found the corpse in the woods near the Salem Run community.
"The exact sequence of events is being investigated by the Detectives and treated as a suspicious death," the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office said.
Details were scarce in the initial report from the sheriff's office. Officials said that more information would be released as the investigation continues.

Authorities took the body to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Richmond. They will conduct an autopsy, police said.
On Tuesday night, the sheriff's office warned of a "large police presence" near Rowan Court. At that time, authorities said there was no threat to the public and the incident was isolated.
