Sylvan Learning and Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce to Host Grand Opening with Local Community

Stafford, Virginia 5/13/15 - On Tuesday, May 19th, Sylvan Learning Center of Stafford has planned a fun, interactive family event from 3:30pm- 4:30pm to celebrate the ribbon cutting of its center with the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce. This an open house, free to the public that will include entertainment, educational demonstrations, and community outreach and raffle prizes.

As part of the celebration, Sylvan is encouraging community members to bring a book donation. “We know that quality, effective supplemental education can truly be life-changing for students and their families. With our new facility we will continue to serve our community in Stafford and enable our students to discover the joy of learning and reach their academic goals,” said Scott Lindsey, Executive Director of Sylvan Learning of Stafford.

During the open house, Sylvan will host a suite of educational demonstrations. This includes Fit4Algebra, which is a free, online Algebra readiness check-up to help parents determine if their children are ready for algebra. Sylvan will also be demonstrating its SAT Test Prep program. Families and students thinking about getting ready for college can get tips on how to prepare for that next step towards higher education.

Additional activities at the event will include: Robotics, Game Design demos along with Reading and Math program demos. There will be a reception for all guests as well as great giveaways.
