AT&T “IT CAN WAIT” Virtual Reality Experience In Fredericksburg Tuesday Aug. 1st

As part of a nationwide tour to remind drivers to keep their eyes on the road, not on their phones, AT&T’s 2017 IT CAN WAIT tour will stop at the Southpoint AT&T Store on Tuesday, August 1st. This stop is among 300 taking place nationwide this year.

The company’s unique virtual reality experience will be on site 12-4pm allowing individuals to safely experience what can happen when they take their eyes off the road to look at their phones. AT&T uses events like this to help drive home the dangers of using a smartphone while driving.

IT CAN WAIT is a national movement urging drivers to keep their eyes on the road, not on their phones because distracted driving is never OK. The campaign began with a focus on not texting and driving, but it has now expanded to the broader dangers of smartphone use behind the wheel.

Since its launch in 2010, the campaign has:

• Helped grow awareness of the dangers of smartphone distracted driving to nearly 90% of audiences surveyed
• Inspired around 17 million pledges to not drive distracted
• Worked with departments of transportation on research that suggests a correlation between IT CAN WAIT campaign activities and a reduction in crashes
