Traffic Stop Arrest: Sober Boyfriend Shouldn't Have Driven, Either, Says Stafford Deputies
A man with no license and an apparently drunk girlfriend suffer consequences, says the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

STAFFORD, VA — Funny how driving with an expired vehicle registration sticker sometimes can lead to larger issues, which is what happened Tuesday night to a couple of Stafford residents, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
For the record, the driver, Michael Wayne Puckett, 27, of Stafford, was charged with driving after forfeiture of licence, and the passenger who owned the vehicle was given a summons for an expired vehicle registration.
But here's where the story gets odd.

Around 9:30 p.m., police pulled over a Toyota Prius with expired vehicle registration on Town and Country Drive. Police smelled alcohol and asked Puckett for his drivers license. He didn't have one but instead provided his social security number, which revealed his license had been revoked.
When asked why he was driving with a revoked license, Puckett said his girlfriend, the passenger, wasn't feeling well.

That's when his girlfriend said she'd be willing to drive. Police said she'd first have to pass a preliminary breath test.
Her results? Twice the legal limit for driving.
