Teacher Accused of Sex With Student in Stafford

Teacher and coach facing charges of indecent liberties and solicitation of a minor, according to Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

A Stafford County high school teacher and coach is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Erica Lynne Mesa, 27, of the 400 block of Batley Ct., Fredericksburg, is charged with 3 counts of custodian indecent liberties and 3 counts of solicitation of a minor using a computer device. She is being held without bond.

Mesa was a teacher at Colonial Forge High School, according to a Sheriff’s Office release. Detectives worked with school administrators regarding allegations of a teacher having a sexual relationship with a student.

“The preliminary investigation has indicated that Mesa had a sexual relationship with male student, age 16-17 in February, May and September of 2014,” according to sheriff’s spokesperson Bill Kennedy. “The investigation has also shown that Mesa sent nude photographs of herself to the student as well.”

Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues, Kennedy noted in the release.
