Teen Assaulted on Canal Path in Fredericksburg

Three unknown men left boy with broken jaw and cuts on his hands and arms, according to Fredericksburg City Police.

Police are investigating a serious assault on a local teen Friday night, according to the Fredericksburg City Police.

Officers responded at 6:25 p.m. Friday to the 500 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy. The victim, 17, told police that he was walking on the canal path when three unknown males approached him from behind and knocked him to the ground, according to police spokesperson Natatia Bledsoe.

“The assailants punched the victim repeatedly before running away down the path,” Bledsoe said in a statement. “The victim sustained numerous injuries including a broken jaw and cuts on his hands and arms.”

Police describe the suspects as black males, one of whom had a stocky build and a second had dreadlocks.
