The driver of the Toyota put the SUV in reverse and accelerated towards the deputy, the sheriff's office claimed in its report. The deputy extended their arms and pushed off the SUV to avoid being hit.
The deputy ordered the driver to stop and called for back-up, according to the police report. The people in the SUV exited as additional deputies arrived.
Deputies said the tags on the SUV were stolen from Fairfax while the SUV itself was stolen from Stafford County. The driver was taken to the juvenile detention center while the two passengers were released. The owner of the SUV was able to pick up the vehicle.
