Shortly before 10 p.m., a deputy was stopped at a traffic light at Route 1 and Centreport Parkway. When the light turned green, the white Honda Accord in front of him quickly accelerated and abruptly cut off another vehicle while moving into the right lane.

While preparing to pull over the Honda for an improper lane change, the deputy ran the license plates and discovered the tags actually were registered on an Acura and had expired in 2015. So he switched on his lights to pull over the Honda, which maintained proper speed but didn't stop until coming to the intersection of Enron Road and Beauregard Drive.

Flores said he didn't his license with him, didn't have valid registration and wouldn't provide his name, after which he put the car back in gear and sped away heading west on Enron Road.

The deputy momentarily lost sight of the Honda, other police units were alerted, and the vehicle finally was stopped about 10 minutes later after pulling into a parking lot near the intersection of U.S. 17 and Cedar Grove Lane.

A search of the Honda found two Virginia license plates inside, and one was reported to have been stolen in Fairfax.

Flores is being held without bond.
