Thanksgiving Fire Broke Out At Stafford Home: Authorities
Fire officials in Stafford County are still working to determine what sparked a house fire around 5 p.m. on Thursday.

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A fire broke out at a Stafford home on Thursday evening, Stafford County Fire and Rescue officials said.
Authorities said 14 people were home when the fire broke out, but none of them were injured. Officials have not publicly announced a monetary estimate for the damage caused by the blaze.
The fire department learned of the emergency in the 900 block of Belle Plains Road around 5 p.m. on Thursday. A neighbor noticed the fire and told the residents.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, the two-story house had fire showing from its roof. Crews brought the fire under control in about 10 minutes, authorities said.
Water had to be brought to the scene of the fire, which required "extensive overhaul operations," the fire department said in a news release.

Investigators have not identified what could have caused the fire. Officials noted that the home had working smoke alarms, and the homeowner declined assistance from the American Red Cross.
