Thanksgiving in Fredericksburg: What's Opened/Closed

Save yourself the trip: Read here for city offices, grocery stores and stores open or closed on Thanksgiving.

Not everything closes on Thanksgiving, and thanks to a push from Black Friday shoppers more and more stores open their doors after you recover from a turkey coma. If you want to start shopping early, or need to pick up a few last minute ingredients for your holiday meal check here before you head out.

City offices closed:

  • No trash will be picked up Thanksgiving Day. If you are scheduled to have trash service on Nov. 27 it will be picked up Friday, Nov. 28.
  • City government offices will be closed on Nov. 26, Nov. 27 and the day following Thanksgiving, Nov. 28.

The Belman Road Recycling Center and the Stafford Landfill will be closed Thanksgiving Day and will reopen for normal hours on Friday.

Banks will be closed.

  • Wegmans, open until 4 p.m.
  • Food Lion, open until 3 p.m.
  • Spotsylvania Towne Center, opens at 6 p.m.
  • Walmart, opens at 6 p.m.
  • Target, opens at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving day, but Black Friday deals started Nov. 10
  • Kohl’s, opens at 6 p.m.
  • Best Buy, opens at 5 p.m.
  • Staples, opens at 6 p.m.
  • Toys R Us, opens at 5 p.m.
  • RadioShack, open from 8 a.m. to noon
  • Office Depot, open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Michaels, opens at 6 p.m.
  • Walgreens and Rite Aid, open at 8 a.m.
  • Old Navy, opens at 4 p.m.
