Thief Hits Cars While Owners Work Out

Fredericksburg police: Break-ins of six vehicles reported at two local gyms

People working out Monday at two gyms in Fredericksburg crossed paths with a thief who broke into their vehicles, according to city police.

The first break-in was reported at 1:35 p.m. Monday at Gold’s Gym, 2380 Plank Road, according to a report from Fredericksburg police. A gym patron reported that an unknown person broke the passenger window on his vehicle and stole his wallet from inside the car.

The second break-in occurred at Sport and Health, 1191 Central Park Blvd., according to police. A gym patron reported that an unknown person broke the passenger window on her vehicle and stole her purse from inside the car.

Gold’s Gym was hit by four more break-ins between 8:40 p.m. and 9:50 p.m., according to police. Four patrons reported that someone broke windows on their vehicles, and one victim also had her purse stolen from inside her car.

The Fredericksburg police said they’re investigating the break-ins.
