The Virginia Department of Public Health issued a harmful algae bloom advisory for a lake neighboring several Virginia counties. The advisory urged residents to avoid the Upper and Middle Pamunkey Branches as well as the Upper and Middle North Anna Branches of Lake Anna in Spotsylvania, Orange and Louisa counties.

Police asked for the public's help in identifying a man who they say stole from the Walmart located at Fredericksburg's Central Park shopping complex. The man also appeared to have a service dog with him, police said.

Stafford County-based Adventure Brewing is set to open a new tasting room in Fredericksburg, according to reports. The tasting room and brewery will be located in Eagle Village in a space formerly occupied by Blackstone Coffee.
