Towne Centre Holds Competition To Win Rent-Free Space

The Small Shop Showdown winner will get 26 weeks of rent-free space inside Spotsylvania Towne Centre in a prime location.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The leasing office at the Spotsylvania Towne Centre is accepting pitches from entrepreneurs who could win rent-free space as part of the mall's Small Shop Showdown. Prospective business owners must submit their store business proposals by Jan. 20.

Spotsylvania Towne Centre leasing staff will evaluate the business proposals and pick a winner on Feb. 3. The winner will get 26 weeks of free rent space — April 1 to Sept. 30 — inside Spotsylvania Towne Centre in a prime location with lots of customer traffic.

Spotsylvania Towne Centre, located at the junction of Interstate 95 and Route 3, near Fredericksburg, has 1.7 million square feet of space with more than 120 department stores, specialty shops, restaurants, hotels and entertainment venues. The mall is owned and managed as part of the Cafaro family of companies based in Niles, Ohio.

The winner will receive a package of promotional assistance to help get the business off the ground, including a news release and digital signage. The assistance also will include prominent Facebook and Instagram postings and stories leading up to and throughout the duration of the six-month period and numerous 22-foot-by-28-foot posters displayed inside the mall leading up to and throughout the duration of the six-month period.

The store will be required to be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
