Traffic Alert: I-95 To Be Closed Briefly on Sunday Night

Northbound and southbound traffic will be stopped for about 15 minutes, says VDOT.

All lanes of Interstate 95 at Fredericksburg will be briefly stopped just after midnight on Sunday for utility work, VDOT announced Friday. The complete traffic stop is expected to last about 15 minutes.

Crews will be stretching utility lines across all travel lanes of I-95 northbound and southbound at the Fall Hill Avenue overpass. The overpass is between Exit 130 at Route 3 in Fredericksburg and Exit 133 at Falmouth in Stafford County.

Virginia State Police will assist with a slow roll of traffic, which is a gradual slowing of traffic one lane at a time. Motorists should be alert for police activity and expect delays.
