Tropical Storm Cindy: How Will Northern Virginia Be Affected?
Tropical Storm Cindy is now buffeting parts of the southeastern United States and could soon have an impact on the Northern Virginia area.

That's the word from the area arm of the National Weather Service in Sterling. Nothing major, mind you, just a bit more rain — perhaps — than previously expected.
In a National Weather Service Q&A early Wednesday afternoon, someone wondered how the storm would affect our area. The answer: "(T)he threat for heavy rain and isolated severe thunderstorms will be the biggest impact from Cindy on the East Coast."
