UMW Men Fall to #2 CNU

Eagles hold Captains scoreless in second half of final game before CAC tournament.

The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team closed the regular season with a 2-0 loss at second-ranked Christopher Newport University on Wednesday night in Newport News. The Eagles close the regular season at 7-6-3 overall.

The Captains scored twice in the first half, but UMW rebounded to play an even scoreless match in the second half. CNU led in shots, 18-13, and UMW led in corner kicks, 9-7. Freshman Tyler Back had two saves for the Eagles, who will host a CAC Tournament semifinal match next Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. against an opponent to be determined.
