Administrators at the University of Mary Washington have suspended the school’s rugby club after an inflammatory audio recording surfaced on social media, a Washington TV station reported Tuesday.

On the recording, some of the team’s members chant what officials at the Fredericksburg school call sexually explicit, derogatory and offensive words, according to WJLA Channel 7, an ABC station.

The rugby club was charged with violating the university’s code of conduct, and administrators last week turned down the club’s appeal of the resulting penalties. The rugby club’s activities are suspended indefinitely, and each member will undergo education on sexual assault and violence, WJLA reported.
