UMW Volleyball Falls to Randolph Macon in Five
Eagles win first two games of match, but take their first loss of the season.

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but couldn't hold on in a 3-2 loss to Randolph-Macon College on Tuesday night at the William M. Anderson Center. The Eagles fall to 5-1 on the season.
UMW won the first set, 25-21, and the second, 25-22, before RMC rallied to win the third set, 25-19, and the fourth, 25-23. In the decisive fifth set, the score stayed close to tied throughout, with the Yellow Jackets winning, 15-13.
Tola Adebanjo had 11 kills to lead the Eagles, while Laura Gomez and Ellen Smethurst each had 10 kills and four solo blocks. Karissa Herrick had seven blocks (four solo), Kaitlynn Wickersham had 19 digs and seven kills, and Katie Shiflett 35 assists for the Eagles.
Mary Washington will play at Wesley College on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
