UMW Women Fall to Roanoke in Final Regular Season Game

Tuesday afternoon the University of Mary Washington women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Roanoke College at the Battleground.

The Eagles played well in the scoreless first half, making crisp passes that set up near misses shot either wide or over the crossbar.

In the 48th minute, Roanoke scored the lone goal of the game on a controversial header by Carmen Graves. There was a question of whether the ball crossed the goal line, but the score was confirmed.

UMW (8-6-2, 3-4-1 CAC) will travel to York Sunday for the first round of the CAC tournament.
